Preparation Process
Start by chopping up all your vegetables and beef
add oil to a pot and saute the onion and garlic
Add in beef cubes, spices, mirin, and then the potatoes and carrots
pour in beef stock and mix in corn starch to the stew, then cover for 20 min to simmer
make garlic bread by spreading an even layer of olive oil, then garlic paste, and toast it in the oven. Once the garlic bread is done the stew should be done as well!

Storing this beef stew recipe is relatively simple, you can just place them in your refrigerator for up to 5 days and heat it up when you are in the mood for it again!
Classic Beef Stew

Ingredients
- 1 whole sliced sweet onion (180g)
- 5 pieces of minced garlic (28g)
- 3 diced russet potatoes (650g)
- 1 diced carrot(150g)
- 350g diced beef
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 tbsp cayenne pepper(skip if you do not like spice)
- 3 tbsp mirin
- 2 tbsp salt (add more or less depending on the brand of broth you are using)
- 1 can of beef broth(32oz)
- 2 tbsp corn starch (thicker broth)
- Chopped cilantros (optional topping)
Garlic bread
Instructions
- slice up onions, slam the garlic, and cut carrots, potatoes, and beef into cubes
- in a pot, add olive oil, and then saute the garlic and onion until the onion is a bit transculent
- add in the cubed beef and sear them for a minute to really get the flavors out of it
- add in cayenne pepper, bay leaf, carrots, and potatoes
- pour your beef stock in and cover to let it simmer for 20 minutes.
- while the stew is simmering you can make your garlic bread by spreading olive oil and garlic paste on a toast and putting it on a toaster until the top is golden brown
- once 20 minutes have passed, mix water with cornstarch and pour it into the stew to create a thicker stew.
- adjust your stew by adding in optimal amount of salt and pepper as different beef stock brands has different salt contents
- top the stew off with some greens such as cilantro
- serve with starch of your choice
